The latest report of the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, on Kosovo revealed the concern with the violence used by opposition in Kosovo, stating that it has contributed to the delay of several aspects of the agreements between Prishtina and Belgrade, especially regarding the formation of the Association of Serb-majority municipalities.
Secretary Ban stated that the general situation in Kosovo has remained stable for the period of October 16, 2015 until January 15, 2016, despite the political violence during the protests organized by the opposition.

Leader of PDK, the largest political party in Kosovo, Hashim Thaci said that the governing coalition is in constant consultations for his election as the next president of Kosovo, and the consultations are in their final phase.
According to Thaci, he will be elected within February.

"We will comply to all constitutional procedures, and my election will strengthen state institutions", said Thaci.

He stated that the coalition has yet to discuss the changes in the government.
